Favorites, catch-up and resuming

Star a channel from anywhere you see one:

  • In the channel list, press Right to reach the row’s star, then OK.
  • In the player, the star sits at the end of the control row.
  • On a phone, long-press a channel for its sheet.

Every category list then starts with a Favorites entry for the current source.

If you have favorites in more than one source, the Live tab adds a second entry, Favorites · All sources. It lists your favorite channels from every source in one place, so you don’t have to switch sources to reach them. Each channel plays — and previews, and shows its guide — through the source it came from, without changing which source is active.

Favorites are listed in the order your sources and providers arrange them, not in the order you starred them: by source (as arranged on the Sources screen), then by category, then by the channel’s place in that category. That keeps the list stable on every device, including ones that synced the favorites from somewhere else.

A favorite whose category the provider has since dropped still shows, at the end of the list.

On a cloud profile, favorites sync automatically between your paired devices — star a channel on the TV and it is there on your phone. See Cloud sync and pairing.

Channels that your provider archives get a catch-up button. Use it to play a programme that has already aired, from:

  • the catch-up button in the preview panel (or the phone sheet),
  • a past programme in the TV guide,
  • a past programme in the player’s quick list.

How far back you can go is up to your provider. If its times are off by an hour or so, the source’s advanced settings let you correct the time zone and offset.

Movies and episodes you stop part-way through appear in a Continue watching row at the top of the Movies and Series tabs, and play from where you left off. An episode is shown under its series’ name.

Remove one you don’t plan to finish from the row itself; an Undo is offered in case you remove the wrong one.
